In a case involving two men from the Six First Nation in Ontario, McKercher LLP lawyer, Dusty T. Ernewein was successful in arguing that the men had a constitutionally protected right to hunt in Saskatchewan without a licence.

This judgment is seen as a ‘vindication’ of treaty rights.
