In Saskatchewan, as per s. 8 of The Administration of Estates Regulations, 2020, notice to claimants must be published once a week for two successive weeks in a newspaper (either a newspaper published nearest to the last residence of the deceased or in any other newspaper designated by a judge on an application made without notice by the executor or administrator) or on NoticeConnect for 30 days.  It can be difficult for creditors to collect debts from a deceased debtor once the deadline listed in the newspaper notice has passed.  Recovering debts is more convenient when utilizing NoticeConnect as creditors can find notices to creditors in NoticeConnect’s searchable online database, from print and digital mailing lists, and on social media.  For further information on NoticeConnect and how it can benefit your business collections, please contact one of our lawyers to discuss.
