Katie is an associate in the McKercher LLP Saskatoon office.
Katie maintains a general civil litigation practice with a primary focus on insurance defence and health law. She has appeared before all levels of court in Saskatchewan, as well as various administrative tribunals. As part of her practice, Katie has a particular focus in privacy law, advising clients from a broad range of industries on information privacy, access to information, data sharing, privacy law interpretation and compliance.
Prior to joining McKercher LLP, Katie was an associate at another Western Canadian law firm, practicing primarily in the areas of civil litigation, privacy and cybersecurity. She received her Juris Doctor with Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan College of Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Music from McGill University.
Katie is a sessional lecturer at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law. She teaches Negotiation and coaches the Canadian National Negotiation Competition Moot Team.
Katie was recently recognized by her peers in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Canada™ 2026 for her work in Alternative Dispute Resolution & Privacy and Data Security Law in Saskatoon. She has been recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Canada™ since 2025.
